What Is A Peptide

A peptide is a short sequence of amino acids joined by chemical links known as peptide bonds. These molecules serve as the basic building components of proteins and function as important biological signals that regulate and influence cellular activity throughout the body.

How Are Peptides made

Most peptides are produced using solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) a step-by-step lab process that assembles amino acids in a precise sequence. They can also be made naturally by cells.

What are research peptides?

Research peptides are short chains of amino acids commonly used in laboratory environments to study biological processes. They play a key role in in vitro work, including cell culture experiments and analytical techniques such as mass spectrometry and HPLC. These peptides are typically produced using methods like solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), which allows for precise and consistent assembly. It’s important to note that research peptides are strictly intended for scientific and analytical use only—they are not approved for human or veterinary applications.

What distinguishes research peptides from pharmaceutical-grade peptides?

Pharmaceutical-grade peptides are produced in compliance with strict GMP standards and supported by regulatory documentation for clinical use. In contrast, research peptides (RUO) are evaluated for purity but are not manufactured under clinical GMP conditions or approved through regulatory pathways such as an NDA.

Are your peptides intended solely for laboratory research?

Yes. All products are labeled “For Research Purposes Only; Not for Human Consumption” and are strictly supplied for in vitro and analytical use. They are not evaluated or approved for administration to humans or animals.

These materials are commonly utilized in controlled laboratory environments for scientific investigation, including biochemical and analytical studies.

What Is a COA?

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is an official document issued by a laboratory verifying that a product has been tested and complies with defined quality criteria. Within peptide and biotechnology research, COAs deliver essential information regarding purity, composition, and analytical verification, ensuring dependable use in scientific applications.

Do you provide a Certificate of Analysis (CoA)?

Yes. third party Certificates of Analysis are available on request directly from each product page. These documents verify the identity and minimum purity of the product based on our internal HPLC and mass spectrometry testing. CoAs are not automatically included with orders. To access one, simply visit the Lab Reports page and TO REQUEST A COA

For projects requiring batch-level validation, we recommend arranging independent third-party testing.

What’s included in a typical CoA?

  • Purity: Measured by HPLC, typically ≥99% for most products

  • Mass spectrometry: Identity confirmation via MS or LC-MS

  • Appearance: Description of the lyophilized material

  • Batch/lot number: Provided for reference

How Do I Read A COA?

To assess a COA's properly:

  1. Confirm independent testing – The lab should be separate from the supplier and ideally ISO-accredited.
  2. Match product details – Ensure the peptide name, batch/lot number, and other identifiers align with your vial.
  3. Check purity (HPLC) – Purity is the key metric; ≥98% is generally acceptable, while lower values may indicate issues.
  4. Verify molecular weight (MS) – The measured weight should closely match the theoretical value (within ±1–2 Da).
  5. Review moisture & solvents – Water content should be low (ideally <8%), and residual solvents must meet safety limits.
  6. Look for sterility/endotoxin data – Especially critical for injectables; absence of these tests is a red flag.
  7. Check dates – Results should be recent and within the product’s shelf life.

Note: A reliable COA comes from an independent lab, matches your product exactly, shows high purity, correct molecular weight, safe contaminant levels, proper sterility data (if applicable), and up-to-date testing.

 
 
What is net peptide content (NPC)?

Net peptide content (NPC) refers to the true amount of active peptide present in a vial, rather than the total weight of the material. The total mass typically includes the target peptide along with additional components such as residual moisture, counter-ions, and any excipients.

Residual moisture common in lyophilized peptides

 usually accounts for around 3–8%. Counter-ions, often introduced during purification (such as TFA or acetate salts), also contribute to the total weight. In some cases, excipients like mannitol may be present as well.

For example, a vial labeled “5 mg BPC-157” with an NPC of 75% contains approximately 3.75 mg of active peptide, while the remaining 1.25 mg consists of moisture, counter-ions, and other non-active components.

Understanding NPC is important when calculating molar concentrations in research applications. When available, NPC values are listed on the Certificate of Analysis (CoA). For accurate calculations, it is best to use the NPC rather than the labeled gross weight.

What purity levels do your peptides meet?

All of our peptides are produced to meet a minimum purity of 99,98%, as verified by HPLC analysis.

How do you test peptide purity and quality?

We use a combination of analytical methods to verify that our peptides meet strict purity and quality standards, while remaining free from contaminants.

  • High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC): Used to assess purity and confirm the composition of the peptide.

  • Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS): Screens for trace heavy metals to ensure the material is free from metallic contamination.

  • Endotoxin Testing: Detects the presence of endotoxins (lipopolysaccharides, or LPS) to confirm the product is free from bacterial contaminants.

Together, these methods provide a comprehensive quality profile for each peptide.

How long does shipping take and which carriers do you use?

Orders are processed within 1 business day from our East Coast warehouse. Once shipped, delivery typically takes 2–5 business days via UPS, FedEx and other reputable Logistics Providers . Tracking information is provided as soon as your order is dispatched so you can monitor its progress.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on standard Logistics Provider Ground rates.

How to Store Lyophilized Peptides

Keep unopened vials stored in a freezer at –20 °C. Ensure they are protected from exposure to moisture and light to maintain stability.

How to Store Reconstituted Peptide Solutions

Store prepared peptide solutions in a refrigerator at 2–6 °C. For best stability and reliability, use them within 4 to 8 weeks.

Do Peptides Expire Even When Stored Correctly?

When kept under proper storage conditions, lyophilized peptides can remain stable for up to two years. Once reconstituted, however, they should be used within 4 to 8 weeks for optimal quality.

Can I Modify My Order After Placing It?

Yes—changes can be made if your order has not yet been shipped. Please contact us as soon as possible by email, including your order number and the requested updates.

If your order has already been dispatched, modifications are no longer possible. In some cases, you may need to place a new order or arrange a return, depending on the circumstances.

Address updates after shipment may be possible if the package has not yet entered the carrier’s sorting system, but this cannot be guaranteed.

What Should I Do If There’s an Issue With My Delivery?

If your delivery arrives with any problems such as damaged packaging, broken vials, or missing items please follow these steps:

1. Document the Issue
Take clear photos of the package and its contents, showing any damage or discrepancies before moving or discarding anything.

2. Contact Us Promptly
Email us within 48 hours of receiving your order. Include your order number, a brief description of the issue, and the photos you took.

3. Review & Resolution
Our team will assess your case and respond within one business day with a solution, typically a replacement or refund.

Please note that photos are required for all damage claims, as they are necessary for carrier insurance purposes. While reports made after 48 hours may be more difficult to process, we will still make every effort to assist you.

How Are Peptides Packaged for Shipping?

All orders are carefully packed to ensure products arrive safely. Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides remain stable at room temperature during standard shipping times, so refrigerated transport is not required.

Our standard packaging includes:

  • Individually secured vials to minimize movement and reduce the risk of damage

  • Protective cushioning materials to absorb shocks during transit

  • Plain, discreet outer packaging with no visible product details

  • Proper labeling in compliance with postal regulations

For international shipments, a customs declaration is included as required, accurately stating the contents and their value.

What If My Parcel Hasn’t Arrived?

If your order hasn’t been delivered within the expected timeframe, start by checking the tracking information provided in your dispatch email. Common explanations include:

  • The package is still in transit, particularly for international shipments where delivery times may vary

  • A delivery attempt was made, and the parcel is being held at a local depot or collection point

  • The package was left with a neighbor or in a designated safe location (refer to any delivery notes in the tracking details)

If tracking has not updated for an extended period or the estimated delivery date has passed, please contact us by email with your order number. We will initiate an investigation with the shipping carrier on your behalf.

Are There Any Countries You Do Not Ship To?

We offer international shipping to most locations. However, we are unable to ship to countries subject to strict UK or international trade sanctions, or where the import of research peptides is prohibited.

Restricted destinations currently include, but are not limited to:

  • North Korea

  • Iran

  • Syria

  • Cuba

  • Russia and Belarus (due to sanctions)

Additionally, some countries enforce specific import regulations on peptides, which may lead to delays or seizure by customs authorities. While we ship in good faith, we cannot guarantee successful customs clearance in every case. It is the customer’s responsibility to verify local import laws before placing an order.
